Why Spain?

No matter which country you go to in the world, you will feel a little foreign but Spain will embrace you. First of all, it is a Mediterranean country and the people are very warm. But when you say 'Hola' or 'hello' to anyone here, you need to time it well. Because you can't end the subject without interrupting a Spanish conversation. They are that enjoyable.

Spain is the naughty child of Europe with its football, Flamenco and Fiestas. It is always lively and always in a state of entertainment. Wherever you are, you will definitely come across a traditional festival. You will definitely come across something that will interest you.

You can come any month of the year. It offers different options in summer and winter. The beaches are as nice and beautiful as the ski resorts are. It appeals to all travelers from water sports to winter sports, mountaineering to nature walks.

Location

It is a Mediterranean country covering six-sevenths of the Ibei Peninsula in the southwest of Europe. It borders Portugal to the west, France to the northeast, and Gibraltar, a territory of the United Kingdom, to the south. It also borders Andorra to the northeast. It has coasts to the Mediterranean Sea to the south and east, and to the Atlantic Ocean to the north.

Spain also includes the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla in North Africa. Spain is the second largest country in Western Europe after France.

Climate / Weather

The mildest climate in Europe is seen in this region. In this geography where the warm Mediterranean climate is seen, most of the year is sunny. The different geographical structure of Spain causes climate differences. In general, rainy and mild weather prevails in the north, while a harsh climate is experienced in higher elevations. The eastern part of the country is heavily influenced by the Mediterranean climate.

The climate conditions experienced by each region are as follows;

Atlantic Climate:

  • GALICIA, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean,

  • ASTURIA,

  • CANTABRIA,

  • It is seen in PAIS BASCO (Basque Country) and NAVARRA.

There is rainfall especially in the winter months. Winter and summer are quite mild.

Oceanic-Continental Climate : Occurs in the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula in the middle of Castilla, Leon, Madrid, La Rioja, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura and Andalucia. Winters are quite cold and snowfalls are seen especially in the north, and summers are hot.

Continental Mediterranean Climate: occurs in Aragon, Catalonia, Valencia (inland), Murcia, Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia.

Summers are hot and winters are cold. Spring and autumn are rainy.

Mediterranean Climate: Occurs in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Vlencia, Murcia and the south of Andalusia. Hot weather prevails in summer. Mild weather is experienced in winter. Rainfall is mostly in spring and autumn.

Subtropical Climate: Occurs in the Canary Islands. Temperatures range between 18-24 degrees throughout the year. Average temperatures in Santa Cruz de Tenerife are 18°C in January and 25°C in August.

Rainfall in the Canary Islands varies greatly from region to region.

Mountain Climate: This is a climate seen in the high parts of the Pyrenees and the high parts of the Catilla Mountains. Winters are long, summers are short and mild. Especially in the winter months, there are heavy frosts in the region. Summers are short and mild. Heavy rains begin in the region towards the middle of July. Floods can occur from time to time during this period.
